Music has been deeply connected with Jian County since its inception.” Yueqing is one of the six thousand-year-old ancient counties in Zhejiang, and also the only city in China named after music. In its more than 1,600 years of history, it has many historical sites and colorful folk art. With the passage of time, new music connects people’s yearning for an ideal life. The design team started from the name of Yueqing, extracted musical vocabulary, and used the rhythm of modern mountain and water clear sound to create the beauty of Oriental sentiment. “The Orient” is located on the banks of the mother river “Silver Lake” in Yueqing, with a beautiful natural stream landscape. The large glass curtain walls on both sides of the stream display a rich landscape and provide an open view. Due to the dense column spacing and low floor height of the original structure, in order to improve the limitations caused by too many columns, the design team used the winding Silver Lake as inspiration, and used smooth curved lines to guide the flow of movement into natural rhythms, creating a comfortable and spacious walking route. The ceiling is planned to use highly reflective white aluminum panels to extend the visual stretching space. To meet the needs of reception and exhibition experience, the design team considered factors such as landscape views and used the space column grid for directional segmentation.
