As winter arrives, recent news from Karv One Design brings a series of outstanding achievements in international design awards from various professional organizations.

The project “Origin | The Jade Apartments Exhibition Center” was honored with significant awards such as DFA, and MUSE Design Awards, and was shortlisted for the 2023 APIDA Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards. The project “Starry | Big Eyes Panda Eye Hospital” was also shortlisted for the 2023 Dezeen Design Awards.

Karv One Design’s work “Origin” has garnered significant recognition with its unique eastern atmosphere, winning the 2023 DFA Design for Asia Awards and the 2023 MUSE Design Awards Platinum Award. It has also been shortlisted for the 2023 APIDA Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards, with the final awards set to be announced in December.

Located in Tangye, Jinan, the Jade Apartments Exhibition Center captures an acute perception of nature’s subtleties as time passes. Drawing inspiration from the “spring,” Karv One Design delves deep into Jinan’s millennia-old cultural heritage, shaping the space with the sculptural power of water, exuding a natural force that is both dynamic and serene.

With a towering 13-meter-high narrow and tall space, an 8-meter-high suspended art installation breaks the conventional perception of ceiling height, where classical arch elements collide with contemporary materials, offering a powerful variation and a captivating opening. Facing the central poetic garden with a view of the garden’s water feature, the designers bring the garden indoors, creating a water landscape. As light and shadow dance through the poetic space, the environment transforms into an Eastern classical theater. The design blends and innovates within the space with a contemporary touch, conveying the unique poetic aesthetic of Chinese life.

2. Starry | Big Eyes Panda Eye Hospital

Dezeen Awards China, Leisure and Wellness Interior, Shortlist

Recently, Dezeen announced the shortlist of 28 interior design projects for the 2023 Dezeen Awards China, competing for awards in six interior design categories, representing the best interior designs created in China recently. Karv One’s medical space project “Starry | Big Eyes Panda Eye Hospital” has been recognized by judges for its aesthetics, innovation, and utility, making it one of the four projects shortlisted in the “Leisure and wellness interior” category.

The Big Eyes Panda Eye Hospital is a professional eye hospital specializing in myopia correction and prevention for teenagers. In the 2000-square-meter eye hospital, Karv One Design places “people” at the core of the design, taking into account a human-centered medical service experience. To create a comfortable atmosphere in the space, natural materials, warm wood finishes, and soft color tones are extensively used to alleviate the tension brought by technological medical equipment.

Sensory perception, materials, and lighting interact to awaken people’s perception and core experience of the space. Soft and warm lighting illuminates the space, while green plants, fragrances, and other elements create a soothing emotional experience for visitors, positively impacting the eye care treatment experience.
